JODIE SEDDON AND ATTE DE JONG
Jodie and Atte have been based in Normandy since December 2021. Their focus is on breeding and producing modern sport horses using a broad combination of selected European bloodlines.
They work with a small number of broodmares, all of whom had a career in sport with Jodie. They have used a wide range of French, Dutch and Belgian stallions within their breeding programme; with the first progeny turning six in 2025.
Jodie has trained and competed many sport horses successfully up to CCI4*L eventing and CSI3*/1.40 showjumping. In the UK she trained extensively with Ian Woodhead (Team GB eventing dressage coach) and Nigel Taylor (Team GB eventing selector).
Her time is now split between producing and competing the young horses, and her legal career: Jodie also heads up Aria Grace Equine Law, working remotely to advise a wide range of UK-based and international clients in the equestrian industry.
The majority of the horses at Haras de la Losquette are available for purchase, and Atte and Jodie are always happy to discuss appropriate matches. As well as producing their own horses for competition and sale, they are happy to take on horses to produce and compete for owners, and provide training and a European base for other riders.
HARAS DE LA LOSQUETTE
Haras de la Losquette is located near St Lo, Normandy, in close proximity to international sea and rail connections, and a number of national and international show centres such as St Lo, Deauville and Haras du Pin.
The renovated facilities include:
- 60×45 Equi-P ebb and flow arena
- Full set of showjumps
- 16×32 Equi-P ebb and flow lunge / loose jump arena
- 17×42 Equi-P ebb and flow indoor arena
- 19 x sport horse boxes
- 3 x foaling boxes
- Various barns for young horses
- 3 sand turnout pens
- 20 hectares of grazing
For visitors to the area, self-contained accommodation is also available on site at gite “La Meriennerie”, with three large double bedrooms and an expansive open plan living space.
